1.What is Steel Strand?
Steel strand is a high-strength steel cable made of multiple high-strength steel wires twisted around a central steel wire (core wire) in a certain direction and pitch (laying pitch).
It is a key load-bearing material in the fields of prestressed concrete structures, bridges, large buildings, rock and soil anchoring, mining support, lifting rigging, etc.



2.Why do we need a steel stranding machine?
The strength and toughness of a single steel wire are limited, and it cannot directly meet the stringent requirements of large engineering structures for tensile strength, flexibility and durability.
After being twisted into steel strands:
High strength: Multiple steel wires are jointly stressed, and the bearing capacity far exceeds that of a single steel wire.
Good toughness: The twisted structure gives it a certain degree of ductility and impact resistance.
Strong bond with concrete: The spiral structure increases the contact area and mechanical bite with concrete.
Good flexibility: It is convenient for coiling, transportation and on-site construction layout.



The steel stranding machine is a mechanical device specially used to twist multiple smooth steel wires or galvanized steel wires into steel strands. It is the core equipment for the production of prestressed steel strands, galvanized steel strands, unbonded steel strands and other products.
