"Inverted" refers to the wire feeding drum (I-beam reel) being placed upside down above the machine, so that the drawn wire falls into the take-up drum below by its own weight. This is a wire drawing method that avoids twisting and deformation.
Products Workflow
Wire Feeding:
The thick wire to be drawn (infeed) is placed on a feed roller at the top of the machine. This roller is freely rotating (usually with a brake to control tension).
The wire end is led out from the upper roller.
Drawing:
The wire first passes through the drawing die box. The die box contains drawing dies (usually carbide or diamond dies), with progressively smaller diameter holes.
The wire is forcibly pulled through the die holes by a strong tensile force, undergoing plastic deformation. Its diameter is reduced, its length increases, and its surface becomes smoother.
Most inverted wire drawing machines are single-drawing (through only one die), with a simple structure. Multi-die inverted machines also exist, but are less common.
Take-up (Key Step):
After being drawn, the wire exits the die and hangs vertically downwards.
At the bottom of the machine is a motor-driven take-up reel. The wire falls naturally under gravity, and the rotating reel neatly winds the wire around itself.
To ensure even winding, a wire guide is used to direct the wire's back-and-forth movement, achieving uniform winding.
Unloading:
Once a roll of wire has been drawn, the take-up reel (now full of finished wire) will stop automatically or manually.
The entire lower take-up section (including the drum and the coil) can be designed as a rotary, lifting, or trolley type. The operator moves it aside or rotates it to remove the full coil, replaces it with an empty drum, and the next round of work can begin. This is key to achieving continuous production.
