Dry Wire Drawing Machine (High Carbon Steel)

Dry wire drawing machines (high carbon steel) use medium and high carbon steel wire as raw material and perform high-speed, continuous multi-pass cold drawing to reduce the wire diameter in a single production process, maintaining strength and surface quality. The steel wire is drawn through a series of dies under controlled tension that allows precise diameter reduction. The finished wire diameter can reach up to 2.0 mm, with a production capacity of up to 800 kg/h (based on 70# high carbon steel). The complete production line typically includes a pay-off stand, descaling machine, straight line wire drawing unit with multiple drawing drums and die boxes, built-in tension control system, spool take-up machine, and a fully automatic electrical control system. The processed wire is widely used in applications that requires consistent mechanical performance such as steel cords, springs, high-strength fasteners, and other industrial wire products.

 

 

Capstan surface treatment: Capstan surface is hardfaced and spray-coated, with a coating height of 150 mm, wear-resistant layer thickness ≥8 mm, surface roughness ≤ Ra0.8, and hardness ≥ HRC 60, ensuring a service life of no less than 22,000 hours or three years

Cooling method: High-pressure water cooling inside the drawing drum

Control system: Siemens PLC with fieldbus control and color touch screen

Gear reducer: Hardened gear reducer with noise level ≤82 dB

Take-up unit: Standard take-up capacity of 500 kg, equipped with V-type three-roll bidirectional straightene

High-Speed Operation

This wire drawing machines adopts straight line drawing design with advanced drawing technology, enabling high-speed continuous multi-pass drawing and stable production output.

Stable Wire Quality:

Efficient cooling: The die box is designed with a dual-chamber welded structure, separating the cooling water chamber and lubricant chamber. Under continuous drawing conditions, effective cooling is maintained, with inlet wire temperature ≤65°C and outlet wire temperature ≤160°C, meeting process requirements.

 

Wear resistance: The drawing capstan ensures a service life of no less than 22,000 hours or three years. After assembly, the radial runout of the capstan drawing section is controlled within ≤0.10 mm. The water ring and bearing housing are treated with epoxy primer to improve corrosion resistance and prevent scaling.

Intelligent Control:

Flexible operation: Each capstan can operate independently or in synchronized line operation. Thewire drawing machines starts at low speed and accelerates to the preset operating speed.

Synchronized control: Fieldbus control ensures automatic synchronization between drawing and take-up speeds, maintaining stable tension.

Safety system: Equipped with emergency stop rope, control buttons, and dual braking system (motor and pneumatic) to reduce the risk of wire breakage and operational hazards.

Stable Structure

The reinforced welded box design with stress relief treatment allows stable operation under high-speed and heavy-load conditions without requiring a special foundation.
