1. Raw material processing and pretreatment section (This is the foundation for producing high-quality steel wire strand.)
Coil/uncoiler: Used for storing and uncoiling raw materials (high-strength wire rods).
Mechanical descaling and rust removal machine: It removes the oxide scale (rust) on the surface of the wire rod by means of bending, straightening and other methods.
Pickling tank (optional, but gradually phased out): Use hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to thoroughly remove scale. Due to environmental protection requirements, it is now mostly replaced by mechanical rust removal.
Phosphating/borating treatment line: A phosphate or borate film is formed on the surface of the steel wire. This film serves as a lubricant carrier and is crucial in the subsequent drawing process. It reduces friction, extends the life of the die, and ensures the surface quality of the steel wire.
Drying system: The processed wire rods are dried to prevent rusting and prepare for coating with lubricants.


2. Wire Drawing Section (This is the core step in drawing coarse-diameter wire rod to the required wire diameter.)
Wire drawing machine:Straight-line wire drawing machine: There is a tension control system between each pass, which can maintain constant wire tension, making it very suitable for precision drawing of high-strength, large-diameter steel wires.

3.Heat treatment section
To eliminate cold working hardening and restore the plasticity and toughness of the steel wire to meet the subsequent stranding and final performance requirements.
4. Stranding / Rope-making Section
This is a crucial process where multiple single wires are twisted into strands according to certain rules, and then the strands are twisted into ropes.
Tubular stranding machine:
Feature: The pay-off basket (spool) is placed inside the rotating tube (conveyor), and rotates along with the tube.
Advantages: High rotational speed, high efficiency, suitable for the production of medium and small-sized stranded wires with not particularly complex structures.
Disadvantage: Large rotational inertia, not suitable for super-large specifications and heavy-duty stranded wires.
Frame-type stranding machine:
The feature is that the pay-off basket is placed on a rotating frame (winch), and the twisting is accomplished by the rotation of the frame.
Advantages: It has a strong load-bearing capacity, runs smoothly, and is suitable for large-scale, multi-strand, and heavy-duty stranded wires (such as bridge cables and large steel ropes).
Disadvantage: The rotational speed is relatively low.


5. Post-processing and winding section
Pre-deformer / Post-deformer: During or after the twisting process, the single filaments or strands are subjected to plastic bending to eliminate internal stress, ensuring that the twisted wire or rope does not become loose and maintaining structural stability.
Tension control system: Maintains a constant tension throughout the winding process, ensuring uniformity and consistency of the product structure.
Online inspection system: May include laser diameter measuring instruments, eddy current inspection instruments, etc., for real-time monitoring of product diameter and surface defects.
Winding Machine: This machine neatly rolls the finished twisted wires or steel cables onto the I-shaped wheels or drums. It is divided into active winding and passive winding.
