What is the production process of cold rolled ribbed steel mesh production line?

 

The cold-rolled ribbed steel mesh production line is a highly automated, continuous production system used to process wire rod steel into welded steel mesh with precise size, specific rib shape and mesh structure. This mesh is widely used in concrete structure reinforcement projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.
The following are the main components and work flow of a typical cold-rolled ribbed steel mesh production line:

 

1.Raw material preparation:

Wire rod storage area.
Wire rod loading device: Usually use cantilever hoist or automatic loading trolley to hoist the wire rod onto the wire pay-off stand.
2.Wire pay-off:
Multiple wire pay-off stands: Equipped with a corresponding number of wire pay-off stations according to the mesh design (number of longitudinal bars), usually passive wire pay-off or active wire pay-off with slight tension to ensure smooth pulling of the steel bars.
3.Rust removal/pretreatment (optional):
Used to remove slight rust or oxide scale on the surface of the wire rod to ensure the quality of subsequent processing and welding reliability.

 

4.Cold-rolled ribbed steel bars: This is one of the core processes. Cold-rolled ribbed steel bars: It consists of multiple sets of rollers. The wire rod steel bars are continuously plastically deformed through the rollers and rolled into cold-rolled ribbed steel bars of specific specifications (diameter) and specific rib shapes (crescent ribs, spiral ribs, etc.). The cold rolling process significantly improves the strength and hardness of the steel bars (cold work hardening) while ensuring the geometric accuracy of the rib shape.

5.Straightening:
Straightening machine: Straightens the rolled ribbed steel bars to eliminate bending and twisting, ensuring that the straightness of the steel bars meets welding requirements.
Hydraulic shearing device: At the exit of the straightening machine, the longitudinal bars (warp) are pre-cut to the required length according to the set mesh length (usually the mesh width direction is the warp).

6.Longitudinal reinforcement conveying:
Conveying device (such as walking beam, belt conveyor, pinch roller, etc.): Arrange the cut longitudinal reinforcements one by one at equal intervals and accurately convey them to the welding host area.
7.Transverse reinforcement feeding and cutting:
Independent wire rod pay-off stand and cold rolling forming machine (or directly use round/ribbed steel bar wire rod): produce transverse reinforcement (weft).
Straightening machine: Straighten the transverse reinforcement.
High-speed fixed-length cutting machine: Cut the transverse reinforcement according to the designed width of the mesh (i.e. the length of the longitudinal reinforcement). The cutting speed must match the production line speed.
Transverse reinforcement distribution device: Quickly and accurately distribute the cut transverse reinforcement to the corresponding position of the welding host (i.e. above or below each longitudinal reinforcement).
8.Automatic welding:

This is the core process. Large resistance welding mesh machine (multi-spot welding machine): It is composed of multiple welding transformers and welding heads. The welding host will perform resistance spot welding at each intersection of the precisely arranged longitudinal reinforcement (warp) and the allocated transverse reinforcement (weft). The welding process is highly automated and controlled by PLC to ensure that the welding pressure, current, time and other parameters are accurate and stable, and to ensure the strength and quality of each weld.

9.Finished product conveying, straightening and shearing:
The welded mesh is sent out of the welding main machine by the discharging conveyor.
Mesh straightening machine (optional but commonly used): level the entire welded mesh to eliminate the slight deformation caused by welding.
Fixed length shearing: When the mesh length reaches the set value (usually the mesh length direction is the latitude), it is sheared horizontally to separate the finished mesh.
10.Finished product stacking/collection:
Finished product automatic stacking device: automatically stacks the sheared mesh into stacks for easy handling and storage. Stacking methods usually include horizontal stacking and inclined stacking.
Finished product conveying area: convey the stacked mesh stacks off the line.

11.Control system:
The brain of the entire line.
PLC control system: coordinates and controls all equipment actions (wire laying, rolling, straightening, feeding, cutting, welding, conveying, shearing, stacking, etc.) to ensure synchronization and precision.
HMI human-machine interface: operators monitor the production process, set parameters (grid size, length, width, welding parameters, etc.), and view alarm information.
May include network interfaces for data acquisition and remote monitoring.
